The Interlake Varsity appears to be turning things around losing a rain soaked away game last Wednesday to Sammamish 5-3.
The Interlake Varsity returned home on Friday to host Juanita. It was Bellevue East Little League night and the visiting youngsters were treated to a hot dog and a great game. Senior Nate Wehner pitched a complete contest, holding the Rebels to 4 hits and capturing a 5-2 victory. Senior Ryan Wagner (pictured) scored twice and had two hits including a bases loaded triple. Sophomore catcher Ayden Allen was also hot at the plate with two hits of his own. Freshman swingman, Johnny Busher joined the Saints' hit parade with his first Varsity knock and RBI. This Monday the Saints kept the home mojo going against Liberty. Senior Matt Haller pitched strong and into the 7th inning with the luxury of having two 4-pitch and one 3-pitch innings. Ayden Allen, Henry Lin and Ryan Wagner all had two hit performances with Lin doubling and Wagner tripling for the second game in row. A "web gem "catch and double up throw by Senior 3rd baseman Max Campbell helped Interlake secure a 6-3 win over the Patriots. The JV played another nail biter when they traveled to Juanita on Friday. The Saints continued their pattern of taking an early lead off the hot hitting of Billy Jensen, Cadre Carrigan, Harry Xue, Teiler Sheehan and Michael Hom. Pitcher Xue held the Rebels to a single run after 4 innings. Juanita charged back in the 5th and it took key hits and RBIs by Steve Emanuels and AJ Lackey and to give Interlake back the lead. Shane Nagel shut the rebels down in his closing role as the Saints held on for a 9-8 win. Come on out to the ballpark this Friday 4/25 as the Saints seek revenge on Mercer Island.
