Swim and Dive Interlake Wins KingCo 2A/3A North Division Champions! Interlake is the KingCo 2A/3A North Division Champions! Woo hoo! Well-done, everyone! This afternoon, we sent a team of 19 of our district-level swimmers to swim against Bellevue (the South Division Champions) to determine the 2012-2013 KingCo Dual Meet Championship. While we came up on the short end of the 99-81 score, it was a great meet, with many personal best times. (Congrats to Michael Lorr for qualifying for state in the 100 Breaststroke.) It's amazing what our team can do when up against a high-caliber team (and by "high-caliber," I mean that earlier this season Bellevue handed Mercer Island its first regular season loss in more than 7 years). This test of our mettle couldn't have come at a better time as we head into the postseason.
Moving on to KingCo Championships this Friday (February 1 and 2) at UW Pavilion Pool are: Jake Beauchamp, Jack Bentsen, David Cho, Jason Cummings, Karn Dalmia, Noah Davis, Albert Furlong, Joshua Gibbs, Joshua Higa, Tsukasa Ito, Albert Jin, Nathan Lafavour, Matthew Liang, Jeffrey Li, Alex Lorenz, Joe Lorr, Michael Lorr, Nate McDermott, Leo Ngo, Kaushik Parvathaneni, Austin Rockwell, Jared Sass, Oliver Sheridan, Andrew Wang, and Eric Yang.

Jan. 24--Interlake 107 Lake Washington 78 The KingCo Conference regular season wrapped up for Interlake on Thursday night with a 107-78 win over KingCo 2A Lake Washington. The Lorr brothers fought it out right down to a photo finish in the 100 freestyle, with sophomore Michael just edging senior Joe by 0.1 second to take first place in a time of 52.06.
The Saints, who have a winning record (7-2) for the first time in at least 6 years wrap up the regular season with a nonconference meet versus a combined team from Highline/Evergreen/Tyee this afternoon. More than half of the 53 team members have earned qualifying times for the postseason, which begins Friday with KingCo Championships at University of Washington. |
